Easter Layouts, New Alphas and a Freebie

Today I want to share with you some of my Easter layouts that I have done already.  I plan on doing quite a few more since I have a TON of pictures from the Easter weekend.

First up is Coloring Eggs.  This layout features my son, one of his eggs, and the final bowl of eggs.  I love his expression in the picture where he is showing me his egg.  He was so proud of himself for completing that egg.  The sad/funny part is after he went to show daddy his egg and was on the way back to put it up, one of the dogs tripped him and he smashed the egg!  It was funny and sad at the same time!

This layout has several great products used in it and in case you are loving any of them I am going to tell you where you can go and get them for your very own stash!  All of the papers and elements (except alpha) are from the DSI April Collab– April Showers.  It is a great kit and very pretty and versatile.  I will tell you more about it tomorrow so come back.  The alpha is a seperate product and is called Spring Fling- Blue and is by Foxy Designs. It is not yet available in her store but will be soon!  And it also comes in Pink and Green.

The second layout I want to share with you is the Cousins.  This layout is of my two kids and my niece and nephew on Easter morning before church.

For this kit, you will notice that I again used Foxy Designs Spring Fling alphas but this time in Green and Pink.  I love this alpha and will probably be using a lot of it in the future.  For the papers in this kit I used Designs by Sweet Mesquite Easter Hop freebie!  They are some great papers.  They aren’t available as a freebie any more (only for Easter) but maybe she will be putting them in her store.

For both layouts I used templates from BTA Designs, who is guest designing over at DSI this month.  I got the change to work with her Color Lovers Vol 1 Templates and really enjoyed using them.  Of course I am a template junkie and love just about any template I can get my hands on.  They really make my scrapping a lot easier and faster.

And because I am so glas that you read to the end, here is a little word art freebie for you.  It was made using Foxy Designs Spring Fling alphas.  Enjoy!

Just click to download!

Well this past week was the final week for the NDIDDS contest and it was a doozy! Wow, what a challenge!  I took all the time we were given to compete my kit. I was ftp’ing my kit at 11:30 at night and was so afraid I wasn’t going to make the deadline.  So without further ado, here is my last NDIDDS kit. Enjoy!

I took my inspiration from that cute little moneky, Curious George!  He is such a silly little monkey.  I went with the colors from some of the original book covers, some monkies and other elements representative of the books and that curious little monkey. Then I threw in some elements that I thought would work well on layouts of little ones being curious, silly, or maybe even being read to! My kids and I love the books, that little monkey and the movie! Hope you enjoy!  The kit includes 16 papers, 32 elements including a full alpha with numbers and symbols. Not all papers and elements shown on preview.  Just click the picture above to download.

Here is a layout that I created with the kit. It features my silly little monkey!

And you don’t want to miss out on all the other fabulous kits that are available for you this week over at the NDIDDS gallery.  Just so you can kind of see what is there, I created this layout with one of the kits, Spring Bliss.  It is a very pretty kit.

So, go grab those kits!

Fishing in the Dark

Lazy yellow moon coming up tonight, shining through the trees. Crickets are singing and the lightning bugs are floating on the breeze. Baby get ready…

The opening words to one of my all time favorite songs and words that aptly describe one of my husbands favorite pasttimes!  Fishing!  He loves to fish and I usually like to go with him.  But I can no where near tolerate as much as he can.  Usually it is because I catch nothing, absolutely not a thing!  Except the one time we were cat fishing and I thought I had hooked a monster.  Man, I was so excited; jumping up and down and hollering at him to help as my pole was bending pretty close to in half.  Even he thought I had got a good one. Until the head bobbed up and it was a stinking SNAPPING TURTLE!!! I was so disgusted and mad! But that is pretty much how it goes for me.

Anyways, I gotta new digi scrap kit for you to play with! I love this one and the color palette is one of my favorites.  I hope that you like it as much as I do and maybe as much as my husband likes to fish!  So here is the preview to my kit.

The kit includes 6 12×12 Papers- 3 plain, 3 patterned; 12 Elements- 1 journal mat, 1 frame, 1 fishing hook, 1 set of lures (4), 1 photomask, 1 silhouette, 1 set of stitches, 1 binder clip, 1 wire, 2 strings; Alpha- Uppercase, Lowercase, Numbers, and Symbols.  The alpha has vowels in multiple colors for ease of use.  All items were created at 300 dpi, papers are jpg format and elements are png format.

And don’t forget to check out the other kits from the other contestants.  There are some really great kits there from some really talented ladies!  You won’t want to miss them.  I downloaded one (well, actually more than that!) to play with and here is the layout I did.

Springs Charm- Week 2

So we got our Week 2 challenge over at DID earlier this week and it was a good one!  I really enjoyed doing this challenge and hope that you enjoy the fruits of my labor as much!  My kit came together pretty quickly except for the word art. I just couldn’t think of or find anything that I really liked or wanted to use.  So I was stuck there for a while.  And then on thursday morning I woke up not feeling too well and by noon was so sick.  I think I must have gotten the 24 hour bug my daughter had earlier in the week.  I am still not 100% but I feel a lot better than I did at this same time yesterday!

I can’t give away too many details on what our challenge was but we had to choose a picture out of several provided and use that for inspiration.  So here is my inspiration.

And now the part that you have been waiting to see.  My kit– Springs Charm; it includes 8 papers, 16 elements and an Alpha (A-Z only).  Just click the picture to download!  And if you download I would love to see any layouts that you create with it.

In case clicking on the picture doesn’t help, just click HERE to download.

The challenge for Week 1 was a hard one for me.  We had to work with a color pallete of Black, White, Green (limited) and then choose ONE other color.  We could only use a ONE-word title for our kit. And we could use no CU items, so we had to do our own extractions.  This challenge really was getting to me; I think I went through at least three other theme and color ideas but when it came down to it I realized that they all really needed more colors to make it work and pop! Then by the time I finally settled on my theme and color, I wasn’t sure what items to scan/photograph and extract. So I just stuck to some that I already had in my little stash. I don’t have very many because truthfully I am just not that good at extracting items.  But this challenge helped me work on that and I think I am getting better!

So for my ONE color I chose a brown color that reminded me of mud.  Then for my ONE word name I went with Muddy, or at least that was what I planned on naming it! LOL! But when I was doing the preview I put Dirty on it and didn’t realize it until I was uploading the photo to Designs in Digital.  So the new name was Dirty! I did not feel like redoing the preview (I don’t save the psd file anyways! opps!), re-uploading, re-zipping, and re-ftping all the necessary files! Too much work for me.

So without further ado here is Dirty!

Just click on the picture and it will take you to my post on the DID Forum that has my download links.  In case that does not work, please CLICK HERE to go to the right place. Please, please, please leave a comment on my post there as it really helps me out in the contest.  And I appreciate it.  Plus while you are there you can check out the other contestants entries.

And here is a layout that I created with the kit (and Page in a Pinch template 29 by RLDS). Enjoy!

Flowers and Showers

Nope, not talking about the scenery or weather where I am.  This is the title of a little mini-kit (that actually turned into a maxi!) that was created as part of the Next Designs in Digital Design Star contest!

Yep, I entered. Not sure how long I will make it. I tend to get overwhelmed really easy lately and not just with scrapping stuff.  Life just seems so crazy for me right now but when i stop and look it really isn’t any different than normal.  So I am not really sure what it is.

So here is a preview of my kit.  Just click on it and you will be taken to the download links.

And just in case that doesn’t work for some odd reason (things have been happening to me like that lately!), just CLICK HERE.

And be sre to come back in the next day or two because I will be uploading the rest of the kit that I created in a couple of Add-on downloads!  Thanks

Project 365- Week 1

Well, this year I have decided that I am going to try to keep up with Project 365! A big undertaking I know.  Don’t know what Project 365 is? Well basically you take one photograph a day of something in your life (person, place, event) and then you scrap it at the end of the week along with the other 6 photos that you have taken.  Sounds like a lot doesn’t it? Well it is.  But just think of all the things in your everyday life that you don’t normally scrap that you will by doing Project 365.

So here is my Week 1 layout.  For me, I did Week 1 as December 27, 2009 to January 2, 2010.  My weeks run Sunday to Saturday.  So enjoy this look into our lives here in the Monda house.

For this week, I was able to use a great new kit called A Day in the Life- January.  It is being put together by several of the designers at Bouquet of Pixels and will be a new monthly collab they will be offering.  While it is geared towards those doing P365, it is not so specific that you can’t use it for your other layouts.  The great thing about the collab is that it will use the same color palette the entire year while offering you a total of 12 fresh, new kits.  And the first months is wonderful, I really enjoyed using it!

Here is the color palette:

It is full of wonderful colors that will not only help all your P365 layouts coordinate beautifully but will also allow you to use the kits for any layout you want! Here is the preview of the January kit:

And because you have read this far and because I want to help you be successful in your Project 365, I have a freebie for you!  It is a template of my layout above.  I am going to try to offer a freebie each time I post my Project 365 layouts, which means you will get at least 52 freebies from me this year!

So to get your free Project 365 template, just click my layout above! Thats all you got to do.  And if you are interested in more freebies, head on over to the Project 365 Forum at BoP, grab them and join our challenges for more freebies! Thats a lot of freebies
